Privacy Policy

At Abintegro, safeguarding data is a top priority. We want to ensure that (i) you know exactly how we use your personal information, (ii) you continue to have peace of mind about how we use your data and (iii) we act transparently.

This privacy policy (‘Policy’) explains

- the nature of the personal information which we collect about you when you use our website or the services we offer;

- how to find out about the personal information we hold about you and how to access and update that information.

This Policy is intended to be used and read in conjunction with the terms of use available on our website, both with respect to free and paid-for services.

2. Nature of the Information we collect.

Information collected in the Service includes your name, address, post code, telephone number(s), email address and any career, study or employment-related and biographical information which you submit in the process of registering for or using the Service, such as details of employment and education.

In the process of providing the Service, we also collect certain additional information, including (a) payment details, such as credit or debit card details and/or banking details which may include payment details of any third party paying for your use of the Service, and (b) further information you submit in the process of applying for and receiving the Service. This enables us to process your order, provide the paid-for Service, take payment of Charges for the Service and to add to the quality of the Services and your user experience.

3. How We Collect Information

We collect information about you in two main ways:

- directly from you, such as when you register on our website or provide information to us or via the Service; and
- from your academic institution (if you are a student); and
- indirectly from you, via the use of Cookies (see section 5 below) when you browse this website.

4. Use & Disclosure of Information

We may use and analyse information about you for the following purposes:

- to provide you with access to our website and to provide the Services offered via the website;
- to process orders placed by you and to take payment of our Charges;
- to contact you if necessary in order to verify your identity for security and other purposes, including administrative purposes;
- to inform you of any service changes or variations and/or to provide notice under the terms of any agreement between us;
- for presentation of information to recruiters and/or other persons or organisations engaged in career-building and recruitment who have access to our website, provided that we shall not disclose to them any information which identifies you directly unless you consent to such disclosure (which you can control via the ‘job status’ option in the Service except for careers services outlined in the next point);
- to provide careers services within academic institutions, which you attend or may have attended, to enable the provision of career advice, coaching and ongoing analysis;
- in connection with crime and fraud prevention;
- to assist you with any service enquiries;
- to help us develop and enhance the services we offer you;
- for the purpose of market and trend analysis and production of internal reports;
- to a prospective purchaser in the event of any sale of our company or the sale of any assets of the company;
- for marketing our products and services; and
- for sending information to you about our products and services from time to time.

We stress that we shall not sell or disclose your personal information to any third party, such as a recruiter or other hiring company or manager, without your prior consent. For the processing of all payments for the Service, we use a trusted third party provider (currently WorldPay) and by agreeing to the terms of this Privacy Policy, you agree that we may make disclosure of your personal information to our payment provider for the purpose of administering all payments on our behalf.

In addition to our above uses, you can also manage and administer access to your personal information via the Service, allow degrees of disclosure and/or terminate the said access at any point. This functionality is provided to you via the Service but you retain full responsibility for and control over your personal information disclosed in this way, which you can control (inter alia) by the use of personalised pin codes.

We may also disclose your personal information to the extent that we are required to do so under any applicable laws or regulations or where such disclosure would be in your interest or in the public interest.

The hosting of our servers is provided to us by a company based in the USA. While these services do not involve the active use or processing of your personal information, we nevertheless ensure that any transfer of personal information outside the EEA meets the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998. In the case of our USA-based provider, we can confirm they are Safe Harbour registered.

5. Cookies

A "cookie" is a piece of information, like a tag, which enables your PC to be identified when you visit a website.

In order to provide you with the best possible online experience, we may use cookies when you visit our website.

You may access the personal information you have provided to us by accessing the member area of the website, accessed by use of your email address and password. You can also amend and update your information in this way.

We shall levy a charge of £10 for any such request, to cover the administrative cost of supplying the information requested.

7. Security

Your email address and password should not be disclosed to any third party. This is also important for your own protection and for the protection of other users of our website.

We have an ongoing program of improvement and development in order to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, accidental loss and/or destruction. We use industry standard secure sockets layer (SSL) technology, to protect personal information, as well as the use of specific logins and secure passwords. Our main web server and database server are held in a securely managed data centre and further protected with a personal firewall and inherent security layers.

Please be aware that communications over the Internet, such as e-mails/webmails, are not secure unless they have been encrypted. We cannot accept responsibility for any unauthorised access or loss of personal information that is beyond our control.
